This Food Safety Learner Guide is for people working as a supervisor in the food service sector. It supports the development of food safety skills and knowledge and includes the content of the 2 units of competency of:
• SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety
• SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices
It contains information and associated learning activities reflecting workplace practices aimed at enhancing the learning process for participants to be able to keep food safe, handle food hygienically, maintain personal hygiene, keep the workplace clean, store food, and control, monitor and maintain food safety. It complies with required training for Food Safety Supervisors, as required by the NSW Food Act (2003) and set in the NSW Food Authority website http://www.foodauthority.nsw.gov.au and the updated requirements for recertification.
